Skateboard Lessons for Adults

Leon has taught adults from their 20s to their 60s. If you’ve been thinking about it, you’re ready.

Why Adults Are Skating

You’ve Been Thinking About It

Maybe you skated as a kid and life got in the way. Maybe you’ve watched from the sideline for years. Either way, you’re here now.

It’s a Real Workout

Skateboarding works your legs, core, and balance in ways the gym can’t touch. Most students are surprised by how physical it is and how good it feels afterward.

Zero Judgment

Leon’s oldest student was in their 60s. His youngest adult beginner was 22. You show up, you learn, you go at your own speed. That’s it.

What an Adult Lesson Looks Like

Most adults show up nervous. They think they’re going to look ridiculous, or fall, or find out they’re too old for this. Leon gets it. But by the end of the first session, nearly everyone is laughing. The basics click faster than people expect.

Leon starts with the fundamentals: stance, balance, pushing, stopping. No tricks on day one. The goal is to feel comfortable and in control on the board. From there, he builds on what your body already knows, adjusting the pace and the plan based on how you’re feeling.

The 3-Lesson Package ($300) is designed for the typical adult progression. By session three, most people can ride comfortably, turn, and stop with confidence. Every lesson is private, so there’s no group to keep up with. Leon works at your pace.

Women are one of the fastest growing demographics in skateboarding, and Leon creates a comfortable, pressure-free space for everyone. What It Actually Does for You

Skateboarding burns between 300 and 500 calories per hour, depending on intensity. It builds proprioception, the body’s awareness of where it is in space, which improves balance and coordination across the board. Your legs, core, and stabilizer muscles all fire every time you push, turn, or shift your weight. And because you’re actually having fun, it doesn’t feel like exercise until the next morning.

The mental health benefits are just as real. Skateboarding produces flow states, where you’re so locked in that everything else drops away. Researchers at Nottingham Trent University called skateboarding “free therapy” after studying its effects on anxiety and mental health. The combination of physical movement, outdoor air, and small progress you can actually feel does something a gym membership doesn’t. It also builds resilience, because nothing on a skateboard comes free. You earn it.

One Hour. That’s All It Takes to Start.
