Walkable and Compact
Tuckahoe is a small village where everything is close together. The flat sidewalks around Main Street and the Crestwood neighborhood give beginners plenty of room to practice without dealing with heavy traffic or long stretches between spots.
Close to a Real Skatepark
Yonkers Skatepark on Tuckahoe Road is about a mile from the Metro-North station. Once students are comfortable riding and turning, Leon can bring lessons there for ramps and transitions without a long drive.
Tuckahoe sits right next to Bronxville and is part of the Town of Eastchester. The village is small enough that Leon can cover most of it on foot during a session. The Main Street area has smooth pavement and low foot traffic on weekday mornings, and the Crestwood neighborhood north of the station has wide sidewalks that work well for pushing and turning practice.
The paths along the Bronx River Parkway reservation give students a change of scenery and slightly longer runs once they have their balance down. And because Tuckahoe borders Bronxville, Leon can shift into the Bronxville side if a student wants to try the surfaces around Leonard Morange Park or the Pondfield Road area. The village doesn’t have its own skatepark, but the Yonkers Skateparkon Tuckahoe Road is close enough to reach by foot from the train station — Leon uses it with students who are ready to move past flat ground.

Main Street Park Area
The flat pavement near Main Street gives beginners a clean surface to work on stance, balance, and pushing. It's central and easy to get to from the train station or by car.
Crestwood Neighborhood
The wide sidewalks and quiet residential streets north of the station are good for cruising practice and learning to turn. Leon uses this area once students have their balance and want more room to ride.
Bronx River Parkway Paths
The paved paths near the Bronx River Parkway reservation offer longer runs with gentle terrain. Leon brings students here when they're ready to build stamina and practice riding over real-world surfaces.

Leon comes to you—whether that’s the Main Street area, the Crestwood neighborhood, or somewhere closer to home. First-timerslearn stance, balance, and how to push on flat ground. If you’ve been skating, Leon picks up where you left off and works on whatever you want to improve.
Each lesson is about an hour. Flat-soled sneakers and clothes you can move in are all you need. Leon can provide a board if you don’t have your own, though owning one makes it easier to practice between sessions. Helmets are required for students under 18.
