Girls & Women
A Girls Skate Program for NYC and Westchester
There’s no dedicated girls skateboard program in Westchester or NYC. We’re changing that.

Why This Matters
Women are the fastest-growing demographic in skateboarding. The sport’s profile has changed since the Olympics, and more girls and women are picking up a board than at any point in the last 50 years. But the infrastructure hasn’t caught up. There is no dedicated girls or women’s skate program anywhere in Westchester County, and the options in New York City are scattered and hard to find.
Leon already teaches women and girls in his regular private lessons. That part isn’t new. What’s new is the plan to build something dedicated: clinics, group sessions, and a space designed specifically for girls and women who want to learn without feeling like they’re crashing someone else’s scene.
The program will serve two groups. Adults who have been curious about skateboarding but never had a comfortable way in. And parents of girls who want their daughters to try something physical, creative, and genuinely different from the standard after-school lineup.
What We’re Building
Beginner Clinics
Short group sessions for girls and women who have never stepped on a board. No experience required. The goal is to stand up, push, and feel what it's like to ride.
A Space That Feels Right
Skate parks can be intimidating when you're new and everyone around you seems to know what they're doing. These sessions are for people starting from zero, together.
All Ages
Sessions for girls as young as five. Sessions for adult women. And sessions where mothers and daughters can learn side by side. The program will be organized by age and level.
Regular Schedule
Not a one-off event. The plan is recurring sessions so students can build real skills over time. Weekly or bi-weekly, depending on demand.
Private Lessons Available Now
The group program is coming, but private lessons aren't on hold. Leon teaches girls and women one-on-one right now, same approach and same rates as any other student.
NYC and Westchester
Sessions at skate parks across the five boroughs and Westchester County. Locations will depend on the group size and skill level.
Leon Already Teaches Women and Girls
This isn’t Leon announcing he’s going to start teaching a new group. He’s been doing it. Women and girls make up a real portion of his students already. Some are moms who saw their kids learning and wanted to try. Some are women in their 20s and 30s who always thought skateboarding looked fun but never had an opening. Some are girls who watched the Olympics and said “I want to do that.”
What they all have in common is they showed up a little nervous and left feeling like they actually belonged on a board. The dedicated program takes that and gives it structure: regular sessions, a group of peers, and a progression plan so you’re not starting from scratch every time.
Be First to Know When We Launch
The girls and women’s program is coming. Get on the interest list and you’ll hear about it before anyone else. Or book a private lesson with Leon right now.
Don’t Wait for the Program
If you or your daughter want to start now, private lessons are available today. Same instructor, same patient approach, same rates. $120 per hour, or $300 for the 3-Lesson Package. Leon teaches across NYC and Westchester at a park or outdoor space near you.
The group program adds something private lessons can’t: other women and girls learning alongside you. But if you’re ready now, there’s no reason to wait.
